Naming Ceremonies

Most of us are very familiar with the Baptism ceremony, but not everyone holds a religious belief but would very much like to celebrate the arrival of a baby and their choice of name.  A ‘Welcome to the Word’ naming ceremony is the perfect alternative to a religious service, and serves to bring all your family and friends together to celebrate your child, as well as to have a more formal ‘naming’ that you will all remember for years to come.

These ceremonies can take place wherever you would like – a formal setting, your garden or home and can include any special adults who you would like to participate in the ceremony, i.e. guide-parents/God-parents.  I can write their contributions, as well as the ceremony script, if required.

Naming ceremonies are not just for children and there are many reasons why an adult may choose to have a naming ceremony – a change of name or reverting back to a maiden name.  Whatever the reason, it’s a chance to celebrate a new chapter with a bespoke ceremony that honours you.

“Good name in man and woman is the immediate jewel of their souls”
